Welcome to Rose of Sharon

Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing support and educational services to pregnant and parenting young women under the age of 25 across York Region.

Since 1985, we have given young mothers the opportunity to work towards their goals in a supportive, learning-centered environment while parenting their young children. With the generous support of our community, we are able to enhance the lives of young women and their families. We are the only agency providing these services in the region and the need for our services continues to grow each year.

Our Mission

Rooted in our belief in the importance of human dignity, we are dedicated to empowering young mothers to create opportunities for themselves and their children and to build healthy relationships in the community.

Our Philosophy

We endeavor to provide opportunities which will enable young mothers and their children to reach full potential in the areas of social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth. We respect the dignity of each person as reflected in the diversity of gender, religion, culture, race, colour, national origin and personality. We believe that individuals receiving support from a caring, loving community, will recognize the good in themselves and, ultimately, use that goodness for their own well-being and that of their children. Inspired by the example of Good Shepherd and based on Catholic values, we believe that each individual is precious and unique.
